Registration Information, data and tools

Registration has CLOSED!

General information

The Cross-Sectional Workshop is a two-day event organised by the EU Projekt NewHoRRIzon (http://newhorrizon.eu/) and brings together people from all 19 different social labs. Based on the experiences and lessons learned, we will discuss further how to best implement RRI in research and innovation practices.

Data use

This workshop will build on the discussions and statements emerging from the event for its research purposes. Pseudonymized statements will be made available to other participants of the event in order to co-create scientific output such as policy recommendations. We will refer to the content of these discussions in scientific articles, policy briefs, dissemination via social media, as well as in reports to the European Commission. This will be done in a way that does not allow the identification of individual persons (pseudonymisation).

Tools used

In order to allow dialogue, we will use a number of tools. The Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS), who co-organizes this event, has a data processing agreement with Zoom and Slack. Slack (www.slack.com) will be the main base for the event and allows us to exchange whenever you are available throughout the duration of the event. Please consult the terms of service for further information on data use and protection: (https://slack.com/intl/en-at/terms-of-service). There will be live sessions each day where we will use Zoom (https://zoom.us/), Mentimeter (https://www.mentimeter.com/) and Miro (https://miro.com) in order to facilitate exchange and dynamic interaction. Please find each company’s’ terms for information on data use and protection here: (https://www.mentimeter.com/terms) | (https://miro.com/legal/terms-of-service/) | (https://zoom.us/docs/en-us/privacy-and-security.html).

Data generation, storage and deleting

We will store comments posted on Slack in text-documents. Furthermore, we will safe all Miro boards created at the live events, as well as the outputs of the anonymous Mentimeter questionnaires. The Zoom live sessions will be recorded and posted at the Slack platform. Only registered participants can access the Slack platform and live events. All Data will be stored by the two organizing organisations – the Austrian Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) and the Zentrum für Soziale Innovation (ZSI) – either locally or at a secure server (Nextcloud). Additionally, data can be stored at the NewHoRRIzon Shared Space, accessible only by project members. Data will be deleted no later than six months after the NewHoRRIzon project ends.

Your rights

You have the right, any time, to stop participating in the dialogue days or to withdraw your consent for data use. If you wish to, please contact the organization team using nh@zsi.at – we will then delete all your personal data.

Please get in touch with us at the Zentrum für Soziale Innovation if you have any questions or comments and ask for ilse Marschalek, Elisabeth Unterfrauner, Katharina Handler or Margit Hofer at:
